The SI-TEC Xtend GSM (Generator System Master) is typically used for controlling multiple generators when parallel to a utility grid, providing control of Si-TEC Xtend CGC generator modules. Multiple GSM controllers can be used in a single system for parallel utility grid, sub feeders, bus couplers, etc.. Each Si-TEC Xtend GSM controller being one module of the permitted maximum of 24 units making up a standard SI-TEC LAN network.
A GSM may control a single generator or multiple generators in a Si-TEC Xtend system, providing control and limiting of import/export active power (kW) and reactive power (kVAr), or based on generator load reference. A standard system may comprise of up to 24 units and split into 4 groups of generators/masters catering for split bus feeder system. Each group having the capability of operating as isolated isochronous or utility grid-paralleled systems. Re-synchronising of split bus/feeders and soft load transfer can be conducted using the Si-TEC GSM master module(s). Systems may be expanded to over 500 modules and 80 groups.
